Excursions, trips and experiences that are an optional part of the Meeting program

Times are given in CEST (Omiš, Prague, Vienna, Berlin…)

During the meeting, you have the opportunity to participate in several excursions and trips prepared by our hosts in Omiš. The list of these optional activities, including price and time, can be found on this page. Registration will take place upon arrival in Omiš.

For those interested, there is an excursion scheduled after the end of the meeting on Saturday.

Please, note that excursions are not part of the RM program. The fee for the optional program is not included in the RM participation fee.

Tuesday – Boat ride through the canyon of the river Cetina

Visit the beautiful Cetina River Canyon on this 45-minute trip.

Tuesday – Beauty and history of the city of Omiš with the Actionbound app

Start at 17:30, free of charge

Beauty and history of the city of Omiš with the Actionbound app. Participants will (in small groups) follow the instructions from the app and they will get to know history of Omiš city in a fun way, and even solve a task using the GLOBE protocol.

The event is organized by the host school, and a good portion of fun is guaranteed!

Thursday – Tour of the former Poljička Republic

Start at 17:45, free of charge

During this bus tour, participants will learn about the history and try the local specialty “Soparnik”, which is included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage.

Friday – Walking tour of the city Omiš

Start at 14:30, free of charge

Learn about the history and culture of Omiš during this walking tour with a local guide.

Friday – Zipline adventure

Start at 14:30, price: 100 kuna / 15 EUR

Enjoy beautiful views and a good portion of the adventure.

Saturday – Excursion to the Biokovo Nature Park – Sky Walk and Makarska

Enjoy the most fabulous sunset view from the mountain altitude of 1.280 meters. The tour will take you to the Skywalk on Biokovo, which is located 12 meters from the cliff edge above the abyss. Experience an adrenaline-fueled walk on the glass floor with an incredible view of the Adriatic Sea and the islands from the second highest mountain in Croatia.

The Adrion Presentation Centre – the heart of the mountain is situated in the newly constructed administration building of the Public Institution of Biokovo Nature Park. The presentation centre includes bilingual thematic units interpreted through graphic and multimedia displays, ambient sound backgrounds, and tangible experiences. Learn more about the origin of the Earth, the formation of the mountains, plant and animal worlds, and cultural heritage through augmented reality.

Makarska is a beautiful city displaying amazing Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Visit St. Mark˙s Square, take a walk along the waterfront and try Dalmatian traditional dishes.
